Hi, I am Bec, a passionate dog lover and dedicated ethical breeder. At Poocha & Co. we pour our hearts into raising happy, healthy puppies in a loving and family-focused environment. We are a small, close-knit family committed to giving every puppy the very best start in life.
Located on the beautiful Fraser Coast in Queensland’s Wide Bay region, our home sits on a spacious block that gives our dogs plenty of room to explore, play and simply enjoy being dogs. With lots of hands-on care, our puppies grow up well socialised, confident and ready to become cherished members of their new families.
We take a holistic approach to breeding, focusing on balanced nutrition, natural health and emotional well-being. All of our dogs are DNA tested for responsible pairings, and we place their health, happiness and longevity at the centre of every decision we make.
Community is also at the heart of what we do. We stay connected with other ethical breeders, sharing knowledge and supporting one another to ensure the best outcomes for every puppy. When your puppy goes home, our relationship does not end. We are always here for advice, guidance and to celebrate every milestone as your furry companion grows.

Whelping & Puppy Care
Our puppies live inside our home with us, where they are showered with love, care, and attention every single day. From snuggles on the couch to playtime in the garden, they experience all the comforts of family life. They are raised alongside their mum, our other dogs, and cats, ensuring they grow up in a well-socialised and balanced environment. This early exposure helps them become confident, adaptable, and ready for their new families.
We crate-train, start toilet training, and introduce a high-quality diet. We believe that nutrition is the foundation of a strong, healthy dog, and that’s why we provide our puppies with a balanced, nutrient-rich diet from an early age. This helps them build a strong gut microbiome and supports lifelong health. While we encourage families to continue with a similar high-quality diet, we support each family in making informed decisions that best suit their lifestyle, offering guidance and ongoing support.
For the first 2-3 weeks, our puppies are whelped indoors in a safe, comfortable area within our spacious family room. I sleep alongside them, providing constant care and early socialisation. During this crucial bonding period, we begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) – a method that gently stimulates their senses through touch, sound, and movement, helping them develop resilience and adaptability.
Around 4 weeks of age, we introduce outdoor play on various surfaces and lots of water play. Whether it’s splashing in a shallow pool, playing with water toys, or exploring new water environments, we make sure they enjoy fun, adventurous experiences that help build confidence and coordination. We believe water play is essential for developing socialisation skills and creating adventurous puppies.
Every day, they are introduced to new experiences, fresh toys, and stimulating activities, ensuring they grow into well-rounded, curious, and confident companions.
Throughout their early development, we follow strict health protocols, including regular check-ups and safe exploration methods, ensuring a smooth transition to their new homes. We also offer ongoing guidance in areas like crate training, toilet training, and environmental adaptation, helping new families feel confident in their journey.
